Janet Crawford

Frank Richard Sandercock Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
was born at Riverton on 20 June, 1872. He would have attended school at Riverton, but whether he came home to the farm to work after he finished his schooling is not known. He was working as a labourer at Broken Hill in 1900 when he married Janet Crawford Click to open page on Janet Crawford
at Riverton on 23 May. The wedding took place at the residence of George Crawford Click to open page on George Crawford , the bride's father, and the officiating minister was Rev. Alfred John Finch. Janet's brother William George Crawford Click to open page on William George Crawford , chaff merchant of Saddleworth, and a Mary Butler were witnesses. The bride was aged 29 and Frank was 27.

Janet Click to open page on Janet Crawford
gave birth to their only child, Garnet George Click to open page on Garnet George Sandercock , on 3 May, 1901. The baby died a few weeks later, on 17 June, the cause of his premature death being now unknown. When Mary Ann Sandercock Click to open page on Mary Ann Sandercock nee Lockyer
made her will in 1915, Frank Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
, her second son, is mentioned in the Will as living at Saddleworth. When she died in 1926, Frank Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
was one of the executors of her estate and was described in the Will as living at Holland Street, Southwark. He was a carpenter. Little is now known of Frank Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
and Janet Click to open page on Janet Crawford
. Evidently Frank Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
preferred to stay with his Crawford in-laws when he visited Saddleworth, rather than with his sister Edith and her family.

It was said of Frank Sandercock Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
that he could never bear the thought of an unpaid bill. He would have the offending bill paid by the afternoon if he received it in the morning. Nieces of Frank Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
and Janet Click to open page on Janet Crawford
remember them as a rather refined couple. Janet Click to open page on Janet Crawford
died at the age of 73 years, on 16 October, 1943. Frank Click to open page on Frank Richard Sandercock
survived his wife by ten years, and died at his home at 30 Holland Street, Southwark, on 17 July, 1953, aged 81. Janet Click to open page on Janet Crawford

were buried at the Dudley Park cemetery, Adelaide (old part, Row 8 on left). As their son died as an infant, there are no descendants now living.
